Training Wing
Before the Pracheen Kala Kendra came into being, it was felt that adequate facilities were lacking in the country for the students and others aspiring to take up regular courses for diplomas and certificates in Music, Dance & Fine Arts to build a career or to adopt a vocation. With this object in view, it was considered expedient to set up an independent well-equipped training wing to provide necessary facilities in Music, Dance and Fine Arts and to provide the students with the best guidance under experienced and qualified teachers who are meticulously selected from all over the country.

The training covers well-defined categories, such as, Classical Music (Vocal and Instrumental) and Classical Dances, Fine Arts and Folk Music and Folk dances. Tutorial facilities are also provided to students individually and collectively. Covering a span of 9 years, the training involves successful completion of various grades of examinations by the students starting from the Prarambhik (elementary) to Bhaskar (post-graduate) levels. To supplement the training, there is a regular provision for inviting Visiting Professors of great eminence for holding classes and providing authentic guidance to the trainees, a facility rarely available to the students in such institutions of the country.

The other distinguishing feature of the training programme of the Kendra is the refresher courses under which teachers working in the affiliated centres of the Kendra are acquainted with the latest research and advanced teaching techniques so that they can in their turn educated their pupils with greater professional competence.
