It was way back in 1956 that Pracheen Kala Kendra was born as a result of efforts and enterprise of a group of artistes and music lovers under the leadership of M.L.Koser who is a well known dancer Guru having performed extensively all over India and Abroad. To revive and promote the great cultural heritage of India especially in classical music and dance as also liberal arts, was envisioned as the main objective of the institution. After its registration under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860, the Kendra embarked upon the task of training, education, research, examinations, performance and devoted all its energies and efforts to achieve the defined goals in a planned and effective manner.
Having defined its goals, it was not easy to chart the course to be followed in order to ensure that the Pracheen Kala Kendra emerged as the premier institution not just within India but in the world of art and culture, classical music and dance in particular. The sustained hard work in pursuit of the goal has seen the Kendra grow over the years into its present stature and strength.
