| The Kendra takes special interest in the well being of the education, training, recreation and all-round growth of disabled, slum and jhuggi-jhonpri children which comprise a vast section of society. There is a special emphasis on the training and education of handicapped children also who have been physically and psychologically assisted by the Kendra from time to time.
A lot of relief and recreation has gone into their well being. It has made a distinct different to the quality of their lives. Scholarships are earmarked for such candidates and they are imparted free training in music, dance and other allied arts. |
The Kendra has a well-equipped 51 bed hostel at Mohali for comfortable stay of students especially those coming from far-flung areas of India or from abroad, for pursuing various professional courses at this institution. The trainees are provided with the requisite boarding and lodging facilities on payment of nominal charges to save them from unnecessary stress and strain and help them to concentrate on their studies. All facilities like modern attached bath rooms and ample space for keeping personal belongings are available there. The modern kitchen is close to the spacious dining hall. There is a lobby for entertainment for the students. The hostel is surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere which is conducive to study and personality development. The trainees are, however, required to observe the rules and regulations prescribed by the Kendra for proper completion of their training programmes.
